I’m looking at creating some homebrew content for D&D 5e. The dream is to create and publish a campaign setting somewhere… but for now we’ll start small.
Our first few posts will focus on smaller pieces of content like backgrounds, magic items and NPCs.
We’ll have a background up on the site soon so it’s probably best to outline what backgrounds are…
Backgrounds outline who our characters are before they take on a life of adventure and help outline our previous experience and personality traits.
They do this by offering a variety of proficiencies, suggested personality characteristics, an occupational speciality in some cases and finally a special background feature granting a unique roleplaying option to gain certain benefits. As such it’s important to have a wide array of backgrounds to choose from to help you ground your character in your GM’s world.
